NC A&T Human Rights Medal - Call for Nominations
The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University University Awards and Convocation Planning Committee is currently soliciting nominations for the university's 2018 Human Rights Medal. The award is presented to an individual who has had a positive impact on correcting social injustices and other humanitarian activities. Other humanitarian activities might include human welfare and social reform, acts of heroism, promotion of fellowship, dedication to technological discovery, academic advancements or contributions, diplomatic endeavors, and community contributions.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, December 1st, 2017.
Eligibility
Candidates for this award may be locally, nationally or internationally recognized. Nominees for the NCA&T Human Rights Medal will be evaluated according to the need fulfilled and actions demonstrated by the individual and the scope of his or her contribution within the community.
Recognition
Nominations may be made by anyone. The winner will be notified in December and will be invited to accept the award at the Annual Sit-In Breakfast marking the anniversary of the NCA&T Sit-In Movement. The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 1st, 2018. The recipient must be able to accept the award in person at the Sit-In Breakfast on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
