On February 1, 1960
in Greensboro, North Carolina, these four A&T freshmen students walked downtown and “sat - in” at the whites – only lunch counter at
Woolworth’s and refused to leave when denied service. These four young men forever changed the course of
history by their bravery and courage.
Listen to Franklin McCain talk about the events leading to February first and the events that occurred at the lunch counter. Mr. McCain also talks about his
life at A&T after the sit-ins. He reminisces about favorite teachers, other students who were involved in the movement, his family, and his career in business and as a motivational
speaker.
