BIOGRAPHY
Stanley F. Battle assumed the role as the eleventh Chancellor at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University on July 1, 2007. Prior to coming to A&T, Dr. Battle served as the fourth President of Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, the Associate Vice President at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic and Vice Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Educator, author, civic activist, opera singer and fitness buff, Chancellor Battle is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated in 1973 from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in sociology. His graduate degrees include a Master of Social Work in casework from the University of Connecticut in 1975, a Master of Public Health in maternal and child health in 1979 and Ph.D. in social welfare policy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980, respectively. He later completed the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University and the Millennium Leadership Institute of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
