Non-University Borrowers Privileges
 
Special Borrowers
  • Persons in the following categories may apply for a Special Borrower’s library card:
    • Members of the Board of Trustees
    • Members of the Board of Visitors
    • Retired university faculty and staff
    • Online Public Access Catalog
    • Public school teachers in Guilford county
  • Applicants must apply to the Head of Public Services or other authorized person(s) with the presentation of satisfactory identification (current address, telephone number, driver’s license, social security number, and employment verification).
  • The Special Borrowers’ card is valid for one year. A maximum of five (5) books may be checked out. A charge of $3.00 will be accessed for replacement cards.
  • Exceptions to these regulations may be arranged with the Head of Public Services during regular office hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Non-University Borrowers
  • Non-University Borrowers who return borrowed books late will lose their borrowing privileges. All accrued fines and fees must be paid before they can check out additional books.
Consortium Students
  • Students who are enrolled in Bennett College, Greensboro College, Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, University of North Carolina at Greensboro and are cross-registered at North Carolina A&T State University may be granted borrowing privileges upon verification of enrollment together with an identification card from their own institution.
  • The home institution and the borrower will be notified of overdue or lost books.
TALA Borrowing Agreement
  • The member libraries of the Triad Academic Library Association have entered into a borrowing agreement with all other TALA libraries, enabling students and faculty to borrow from other participating libraries.
  • The home institution and the borrower will be notified of overdue or lost books.
Local Colleges(Students/Staff)
Students/Staff from other Colleges and Community Colleges in Greensboro may borrow books upon verification of enrollment at their own institutions. Each loan will be valid for a one-time use only and is subject to overdue fines, rules, and regulations of F.D. Bluford Library.
 
Early College Students
Students enrolled in the Early College Program must present a valid University identification card at the Circulation desk before checking out items. The checkout limit is a maximum of 10 books.
 
Middle College Students
Middle College Students may use books in the Library only.
 
Secondary School Students
Secondary school students may use materials in the library.
 
General Public
Citizens in the community who are not enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university and who have need for materials unavailable through the services of the Greensboro Public Library should request a written referral from a librarian at any branch of the Public Library to borrow material at N.C.A.& T.
