Faculty and Librarian Collaboration

When librarians and faculty members collaborate on library assignments, they help ensure that the student will have a successful learning experience. Consultations lead to the following positive outcomes:
- Make certain that the information required by the assignment can be found through the Library's online catalog or other resources available in the library.
- Confirm that specific resources listed on the assignment are available in the Library.
- Recommend that certain items be placed on reserve in the Circulation Department if library resources on the subject are limited ( for example, if the library owns only one copy of a resource specifically required by an assignment).
- Reduce anxiety and frustration often associated with library use.
- Allow sufficient time for the library to acquire additional resources recommended for purchase.
