BLUFORD LIBRARIANS COLLABORATE TO PUBLISH CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH

Congratulations to our library colleagues with publications this semester. We are proud of your research and your collaborations with the academic community.

Iyanna Sims, David Rachlin, and Dr. Tracie Lewis, “Big Data Infrastructure at the Crossroads: Support Needs and Challenges for Universities”

Congratulations to the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University team on their publication and partnership with Ithaka S+R! F.D. Bluford Librarians Iyanna Sims and David Rachlin, along with Dr. Tracie Lewis of the Division of Information Technology Services, collaborated with more than 20 higher education institutions to investigate how academic researchers use big data. Their team’s work came out in Ithaka S+R’s research report, “Big Data Infrastructure at the Crossroads: Support Needs and Challenges for Universities” (2021). This report provides valuable insight into how academics conduct big data research and how to support big data researchers at colleges and universities.

John Teleha,  “SARS-COV-2: Infection, transmission, transcription, translation, proteins, and treatment: A Review”

John Teleha, Special Projects/Engineering Librarian, has co-authored his second article with faculty from the Departments of Chemistry and Biology in the College of Science & Technology at NC A&T SU and the Department of Biology in the College of Arts & Sciences at Appalachian State University. The team’s article, “SARS-COV-2: Infection, transmission, transcription, translation, proteins, and treatment: A Review” was published by the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules this December. This review provides an important overview of the "molecular entities involved in the process of infection" by COVID 19.  Congratulations to everyone involved in this project!

Library faculty and staff, do you have a publication you want to be celebrated? Email the Communications and Grants Librarian, Katie Kehoe at kjkehoe@ncat.edu with your name and the title of the article.
