All in all, the Karnider book seems to be of high quality. Let's see if you can obtain critical reviews of the book. Do others who have read the book believe it is valuable? A good review will support your contention that this book is a good and worthwhile source for your paper.

A review of the book by Kardiner appeared in the May 20, 1951, issue of the New York Times Book Review, which ended with a sure description of the results of oppression and discrimination: "Now we are shown that discrimination also requires them to pay a higher psychological price to maintain even a precarious balance with their environment." (Merton, 1951).

Once you have a book or journal article in hand, you will evaluate it further, using the questions Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?. See Thinking Critically about World Wide Web Resources, from UCLA, to find more detailed questions for evaluating an information source.
