The course is designed to work with Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. The course will work best on a 486 pc or better with a minimum of 8 mg of RAM; we also suggest that you use a 28.8 modem. General Course Navigation and Access
Each course page has 5 navigation buttons on both the top and bottom of the screen. These will help you navigate through the course. If you want to go to a specific lesson, select the Lessons button
. It will take you to the Table of Contents for the course. Or select the Index button
which gives a complete list of each page in the lessons.
Throughout the course important words appear in green lettering. These words are linked to a course glossary. If you are unclear what one of these words mean, click on it and you will be able to view a definition in the glossary. To return to the lesson, click on the BACK button.
Many links leading out of the tutorial, or to a past lesson in the tutorial, may open in a new window and have no options to go back or forward because the buttons are "greyed out" and will not work. If this happens, simply close the new window to return to the screen you were on before clicking that link.
The course also provides an electronic Interlibrary Loan form. Links to the form appear throughout the course and in the Table of Contents under "Bibliography, References and Forms".
