Borrowing Questions

Access Services (Circulation) is available during library hours:

Bluford Library provides online resources and services to support all classes, including fully-online, partially-online, or hybrid courses. We offer off-campus access to a variety of online resources and services (e.g. e-books, journal articles, electronic reserves, item delivery, and tailored research assistance via email, phone and chat). The goal is to provide students, faculty, and staff in off-campus locations with the same library expertise, services, and support that are available on campus. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Off-Campus Access

When using many of these resources off-campus, you may be prompted to enter a username and password. The username and password will be your OneID username and password, which is the same you use to access Blackboard and other university resources.

Finding Articles and Resources Online

  • AggieGOLD Search
Type keywords, an author's name, or even a full title in the search box, then click “Search.”  Within the search results, you can filter, or limit by format, content type, publication year, or broaden your search criteria through “Advanced Search”. Looking through the list you will notice that there are different formats available, including print book, video, online articles and ebooks.
  • Article and Journal Databases
  • Electronic Course Reserves
    • Search our resources by course number or Instructors name.
    • Many of our reserves are print books. If you need a copy of pages, our staff will scan a limited number of pages, based on copyright guidelines.
    • Contact us at or 336.285.4164 for scanning requests.

Borrowing Items

For our current faculty, employees and students, we will mail books from our collection to you, free of charge, with a prepaid label to return them. Please contact  for additional information.

Additionally, you may take advantage of our Cooperative Library Lending Agreement (PDF) that allows current students, faculty, and employees to borrow books from any of the 16 constituent libraries of the University of North Carolina.

Interlibrary Loan

When you need materials that are not available at the Bluford Library, you can request an interlibrary loan or document delivery service. See our Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery page for information.

Loan Length & Due Dates

Due dates for items will vary based on which library is loaning it to you. Bluford Library's loan lengths are available here on our website. Always note the due date for each item because you are responsible for any fines if the lending library does not receive the item back before the due date.

Renewals are not automatic and must be requested from the library that owns the item. Renewals may not be possible on some items. Access your library account to renew items from Bluford Library. Contact us at or 336.285.4164 for assistance.
